If you’re not tapping into the amazing world of traffic from wedding guests, you’re really missing out on a great marketing opportunity. Not only is there a chance that the guests will purchase pictures, they may also keep your studio in mind the next time they’re looking for portraits.
You need to give guests your website and directions to view the pictures
Don’t force the bride and groom to do all the work in spreading the word about where guests can find the wedding pictures. Give the guests the information yourself. Also keep in mind that a slip of paper with your website address is likely to find it’s way to the trash, but something nicer like a picture of the bride and groom tends to end up in a purse.
Your website needs to be amazing
If the website you’re directing clients to is poorly designed, you can expect that you’ll get visitors who don’t want to stay on the website for too long. Also expect that a bad website will make your company look unprofessional. Do your website right, or have your pictures hosted on a website that takes care of the professional design for you.
Your images from the wedding should be breath-taking
Don’t let down guests who are eager to be impressed by wedding day pictures. If they took the time to come to the website, the pictures need to be worth their visit. Plus, the more inspiring the images are, the more likely people are to tell their friends to check out the pictures.
Guests will look for the pictures you took of them
People like to see pictures of themselves, especially when they look good. The quick shot you get with your camera of a person at a reception is likely to be better than any other picture they’ve had their friends take in the last couple of years. If it’s a decent shot, they’re likely to purchase a small print and put it on their desk. Even a small print with your logo on the picture is still good advertising.
So what are you waiting for? Get yourself some more website traffic at next weekend’s wedding. If you’re looking for additional insight on making this work, let me know and I’d be happy to offer some suggestions.

Could I see a sample of a websites that posts pictures of the wedding the next day. Like the idea.

John,
Thanks for stopping by! We actually do this on our website. It’s a custom ordering website that I put together myself. There are quite a few options for ordering images online – Collages.net is one that comes to mind right now.
